Pregnancy is one of the most extraordinary times in a woman's life. It is a time for nurturing yourself as well as your unborn child. It’s also time for learning to meditate and find focus in breath. Prenatal Yoga Classes provide safe exercises designed to strengthen and relax a rapidly changing body, preparing students for conscious childbirth and the opportunity for mother and child to bond prior to birth.
Prenatal yoga classes go beyond the physical realm of movement and embrace breathing techniques that relax the mind and give focus during times of stress. Classes use meditations that help a mother discover a deeper sense of peace, empowerment as well as lifting fear and doubt out of pregnancy and birth. As a mother’s feelings and emotions are felt by her unborn child it is of utmost importance for a mom to create a peaceful, loving environment around herself. Each Shanti Mom Prenatal Yoga class will have a theme designed to be uplifting and bring awareness.
During each step of this training teacher trainers will learn to do:
Create and guide expectant moms through asana safe for pregnancy yet challenging enough to properly prepare the body for birth
Create and guide pre-natal students through meditations for mom and baby
Facilitate bonding with other moms going through a similar transition
Plan classes that are designed specifically for the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of expectant moms
Apply knowledge of pregnancy complications and contraindications to assure mom and baby's safety at all times.
